We love the Honda Fit here at Tameron Honda, and we love all of the upcoming electric-vehicle technology from major automakers. That said, we really love that the launch of the Honda Fit EV is getting closer and closer.
At the LA Auto Show, audiences finally got to see all the changes Honda made to the popular Fit. California and Oregon will get the first EV versions, and by the beginning of 2013, it will arrive in six East Coast markets. That means lucky drivers on the West Coast will be the first to have access to the estimated 123 city-mile per charge range (76 city/highway). Those looking to get behind the wheel of an electric Honda will sign up for a $399/month lease, and Honda is expecting to sell about 1,100 Fit EVs over the next three years.
It will also feature a three-mode electric driving system adapted from the Honda CR-Z Sport. The driver can choose between Econ, Normal and Sport to maximize efficiency or enhance the driving experience. And with the onboard 32-amp charger, the Fit can be easily recharged. Meanwhile, with a 240-volt charge, the Fit EV can be fully recharged within three hours.
Honda has yet to release further details about which American markets can expect the Fit EV soon, so stayed tuned with Tameron Honda for more updates. Feel free to contact us via our website or stop in and see us at 1675 Montgomery Hwy Birmingham, AL 35216 to learn more.
