The latest in hybrid technology from Honda, the CR-Z Sport Hybrid Coupe, was named "Most-Efficient Two Seater" by the Environmental Protection Agency after it debuted this year. The 2012 variant will be available soon at Tameron Honda, and offers drivers a chance to get behind the wheel of a high-performance sport hybrid with a lot of tech gadgets.
The sleek black interior of the coupe is complemented by the bright blue and shiny aluminum instrument display with a 3D multi-layered look. The 160-watt AM/FM/CD player audio system is hooked up to six speakers, with an available USB audio-interface and auxiliary input jack. Also included in the audio system is speed-sensitive volume control and CD/MP3 text readout.
Another advantage of this new Honda model, is the Honda Satellite-Navigation System available on the EX trim level. It includes over seven-million points of interest, and can help you find any of your intended destinations with its 6.5-inch display and voice recognition capabilities.
That's a lot of information, but we're not done yet. The three-mode drive system allows you to drive in Sport, Normal, or Economy mode. The four-cylinder, 16-valve, single overhead cam engine combines with Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (i-VTEC) and the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) to put out 122-hp and 128 lb-ft. of torque. The 10-kilowatt electric motor uses generative breaking and coasting to assist with acceleration and boost the fuel-economy to a combined EPA-estimate of 37-mpg city/highway.
